External Volunteering

Organizing Fundraisers: Madonna House currently hosts or participates in several fundraisers throughout the year. Volunteers with good organizational skills and the vision to orchestrate large events are needed to help with current fundraisers and to plan and execute future fundraisers.

  • Hold a Food Drive: Coordinate and/or sponsor a food drive.
  • Turn a Party into a Charitable Event: Ask your guests to bring canned goods as their entrance ticket to the party.

Petitioning Local Businesses for Goods or Services:Many businesses in Quincy and the surrounding community already generously support Madonna House. However, there is still a greater need than what is being met. Outgoing volunteers with excellent people skills are needed to petition additional businesses for assistance. Very small donations of goods and/or services by local businesses can make very large differences in the lives of the recipients of Madonna House services.

  •  Pick Up Donations from Local Businesses and Organizations: Pick up donations from local businesses and organization collecting food.

Preparing Presentations on the Madonna House: Often when educating volunteers, local businesses, or the public about what services Madonna House provides and who it serves, a short presentation would be useful. This would most likely be put together in PowerPoint or a similar application. General computer skills are necessary for this opportunity.
